Children's Ministry
Children at Gilbert Bible Church
We believe that parents bear the responsibility to bring up their children to know the Lord and His ways. (Ephesians 6:4) With that in mind, our desire in the family ministries of Gilbert Bible Church is 1) to equip the parents through the regular teaching of God’s word and through equipping classes that they may grow in their biblical role, 2) to come alongside parents providing teaching the Word of God in a safe and secure environment. At each age, our desire is to bring age-appropriate lessons from the Word of God that point the children to the character of God, the work of Christ and how to live in relationship to Him.
On any given corporate service you can expect:
Infants through two year-olds class is available approximately 10 minutes before each service. These children will be signed in, dropped off and picked up at their classroom.
Three-year olds up through the 5th grade will sign in before service, but remain with their parents for the first portion of our service. In a regular corporate gathering, you can expect to sing, hear the weekly scripture reading, celebrate the Lord’s Table with a communion meditation followed by an elder prayer. After the elder prayer, there is a time for announcements and greeting one another, during which our children will gather together with their teachers in the church lobby and be taken to their classrooms for the remainder of the service. They will be given a snack (we are a nut-free campus), hear a lesson from God’s Word, and do an activity/craft that goes along with the lesson. After the sermon and a closing song, please proceed to your children’s classroom to pick them up.
5th grade through High School students remain in the main service during the sermon, and are invited to our Youth Ministries.
After our regular service we regularly offer a 3rd-5th grade ministry (D64) and our Youth Ministries.
Previous parenting classes can be found here.
